Stella Dial, M.A., Ed.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Dial is a Muskegon native, former high school teacher and life-long resident.
She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 1995 from Western Michigan
University. She has been in private practice in Kalamazoo and Muskegon since 1988.
During that time, Dr. Dial has worked with people of all ages providing assessment
and treatment for a variety of psychological challenges which include ADHD, depression,
anxiety, relationship issues, and adjustment disorders.
Dr. Dial works with individuals, groups, families, and couples. She believes strongly
in the ability of individuals to change and find relief from their emotional distress
through a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques. These include teaching
communications and relationship skills, use of cognitive-behavioral techniques,
insight development, as well as cognitive and psychological assessment.
In her career in Psychology, Dr. Dial has taught at the graduate level at Western
Michigan University, worked with hospitalized children at Pheasant Ridge Psychiatric
Hospital, and provided treatment for prisoners at the Kennedy Center, a federal
correctional facility in Morgantown West Virgina. She also served on the Western
Michigan Psychological Association Executive Board for nine years. In her last year
she was board president. Additionally, she has been in private practice since 1989.
Dr. Dial is married to a Corrections Psychologist, has three children and five grandchildren.
